NEHA recognizes that its employees are its most valuable resource. The Human Resources Policy establishes the principles, rules and procedures governing all employment relationships within NEHA, providing a standardized framework for recruitment, employee development, performance management, compensation, workplace conduct, safeguarding and staff welfare.

The policy promotes merit-based recruitment, equal opportunity, accountability, professionalism, diversity, inclusion and transparency. It applies to all employees, consultants, volunteers, interns and casual workers, and enforces safeguarding, PSEA, anti-harassment, health and safety, and information security. Standard working days are Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

The Financial Management Policy establishes a comprehensive framework for the effective planning, management, control, recording and reporting of NEHA's financial resources. It promotes transparency, accountability, sound stewardship and compliance with applicable laws, donor requirements and internationally recognized financial management standards.

It covers budget management, revenue and donor funds, cash and bank management, payment and expenditure controls, accounting records, fixed-asset management, internal controls, financial reporting, audit, and measures against fraud, corruption and conflict of interest — ensuring proper stewardship of donor resources and efficient utilization of funds.

The Logistics Policy establishes a standardized framework for the planning, acquisition, transportation, storage, distribution, maintenance and disposal of organizational resources, ensuring logistics operations support NEHA's humanitarian and mine action programmes efficiently, transparently and in compliance with donor and legal requirements.

Guided by accountability, transparency, value for money, efficiency, fair competition, integrity, sustainability, risk management and safety, it governs logistics planning, warehouse and inventory management, asset management, fleet management, transportation, fuel control, security and records management.

NEHA's procurement and asset management practices ensure that goods, works and services are acquired fairly, transparently and with value for money, in compliance with donor and legal requirements. All organizational assets are registered, tagged and monitored throughout their useful life, with an updated asset register, annual verification and controlled disposal.

NEHA is committed to the highest standards of safeguarding and the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA). The organization enforces a code of conduct, anti-harassment measures and clear reporting and response procedures to protect beneficiaries, staff and communities, with mandatory safeguarding and PSEA declarations for personnel.

Child protection is integral to NEHA's humanitarian mandate. NEHA safeguards children across all its activities and tailors explosive ordnance risk education to reach children — among the groups most at risk from landmines, UXO and ERW.

NEHA promotes gender equality and inclusion in its workforce and its programmes, ensuring equal opportunity and the meaningful participation of women, men, girls and boys, and of marginalized groups, in mine action and humanitarian response.

NEHA applies robust internal controls, internal and external audit, and systematic risk management to prevent fraud and corruption and to protect organizational and donor resources. Risks are identified, assessed and mitigated on an ongoing basis, with clear accountability at every level.

NEHA aligns its technical and humanitarian work with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) and the Sphere Standards. This commitment to internationally recognized best practice underpins the quality, safety and accountability of every programme.
